The cottage is situated on Lake Kashagawigamog in the Haliburton Highlands, and is accessed directly off County Rd 121, almost midway between the villages of Minden (Hwy 35) and the town of Haliburton (Hwy 121). Lake Kashagawigamog is part of a 5 chain lake extending from the village of Minden to the village of Haliburton. It is a popular tourist destination with many cottages, permanent residences and resorts.

The cottage is located just over 2¼ hours and 200 Kms northeast of Toronto, 40 minutes drive north of the medium-sized town of Peterborough.. It is ideally placed for exploring the Haliburton Highlands and Algonquin National Park to the north and the Kawarthas to the south, both areas of outstanding natural beauty. It is also close to the many groomed and signposted snowmobile and cross-country ski trails that criss-cross Ontario. In addition, the downhill ski resort - Sir Sam's is under a half an hour's drive away.
